The Main Rules Of The Tennis Game

Rules

Tennis is played by two players or pairs of players. The task of the game is to transfer the ball to the territory of the enemy so that he could not get it back.

Innings

Each scoring begins with the ball. For the game, the right to serve moves from one player to another. Standing behind the backline near the line, which divides the court in half, must transfer the ball to the diagonally opposite half of the opponent’s pitching area. The first feed is always done to the right of the centerline. After each point, the server moves to the opposite side of the centerline.
If the ball falls over the serving line or into the net, the player will be entitled to the second serve. If this happens again, the opponent wins a point. It is considered a violation of the server"s intervention for the backline. If the ball touches the net but reaches the opponent’s side, the service is reset and replayed.

Game

Each game opens with a score of 0-0. If the server wins the service, then the next one is 15-0, if he loses, the opposite one is 0-15. The next successful submission increases the score to 30, then 40, the next draw leads to winning the game, if the opponent has a score of 30 or less. If both players have a score of 40, then the winner of the next serve gives an advantage to the winning player.

Set
A player is considered to have won a set if he has won 6 games. If the score is 6-5, another game is assigned. If the score becomes 7-5, the set ends. If the score becomes 6-6, then play a tiebreak.

Match
Matches can be 3-set or 5-set. In the 3-net, the player who wins two sets wins, in the 5-net - 3 sets.

Tiebreak

The player makes the first serve. Then the opponent makes two feeds. Then the change occurs after two feeds. The first player to score 7 points with a difference of 2 points is considered to be the one who won the tiebreak. Tie-break lasts precisely as long as necessary to achieve a gap of two points. Sites change after every 6 points.
The last set in the game is played without a tiebreak.

Other rules

  • the line is considered a field;
  • in addition to serving, the ball that hooked the net, but fell on the side of the enemy, is counted
  • You can beat the services only after the ball bounces, while during the game you can beat the ball and before it touches the court surface;
  • a point is not counted if the ball hits or affects the player’s body, is beaten back before the ball crosses the net line, or if the player hooked the net or the net rack with a racket or any part of his body.

Competition format
For individual competitions, the best 16 players are sown, which are evenly sorted among the participants so that players from the same country and seed players can meet each other as of late as possible.
